There were fewer warblers today than yesterday .However, I did find a WHITE-CROWNED PIGEON (female). It flushed from a large Ficus on the N.E. corner of the Coastal Hammock Trail. It flew about 30 ft. N. to a large Sea-Grape where it perched ,bobbing its head frequently , for at least 15 mins. The last one I spotted at Birch was with Wally George and " the group" in the late '90s.I showed an i.d picture I took to one of the park staff who had worked in the Keys and he immediately exclaimed "hey, that looks like a White Crowned Pigeon". I believe there have been other sporadic sightings in Broward over the last few years ,nonetheless, it is a pretty good bird for the County.
Palm 5
Yellow Rump 15
Prairie 4
Catbird 3
Kestrel
Again , there were far fewer warblers than yesterday but the pigeon was pretty cool... Happy Vernal Eqinox everyone..
