I can add that at two of the spots I bird the most (Bill Sadowski and Matheson Hammock - both coastal Miami-Dade) I only see Brown Thrashers in September and October. I'm sure there are exceptions but eBird seems to confirm that something goes on in late summer/early fall and the birds pop up along the coast.
