They've been year-rounders for me - I've had them in my yard for about 5 years now here in Boca - they occasionally hide for a few weeks or months, but I spot them time and again, and then they come out more in late Spring and through summer as they seem to nest, have chicks, and get more bold in coming out for food and foraging. They nest in my ficus hedges, and steal peanuts from the squirrel feeding area I lay out in the yard. They seem mostly uninterested in the seed mix in my feeders, that are usually dominated by blue jays, cardinals, grackles, and doves.
