A pair of Ringed Teals (Argentina) were seen at Dump Marsh resting on rocks. The male is quite attractive with a black strip going down the back of the head. It has rufous sides and white and green patches towards the tail. The male and female had fine black spotting on the breast. A Red-breasted Merganser was seen at Cutler Wetlands. A Northern Flicker was seen on a thin dead snag to the right of the canoe launch for all to see (no Mangrove Cuckoo though). Cedar Waxwings were seen at Castello Hammock, along with Purple Martins setting up shop and lots of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. The Rufous Hummingbird may have been seen briefly, but it was not seen in it's regular place. This was a field trip with Audubon of the Everglades and Birding Adventures.
