Horned Grebes are common winter birds in Florida Bay. For the last 3 years I've been spending almost 5 days a week in winter on the bay doing spoonbill research. Most days on the bay I see numbers of HOGR's, this year I'd say they're more common than normal with days of 10+ grebes being the norm. Rabbit Key Basin certainly is one of the best spots to see them, Common Loons also. This basin consistantly has some of the clearest water in the bay.
