Yesterday after going to Kendall Hospital to look for parakeets (only saw 30 - 40 Mitred/Red Masked), I stopped by Matheson Hammock about 9:30a.m. to look for the La Sagra's. While doing so, I found a yellow breasted Chat fairly near to the La Sagra's.
In between the bathroom and the stone shelter/gazebo there is a thick tangle of lower vegetation. The chat was in that feeding. The La Sagra's was in the adjacent Live Oak.
At the time I didn't think too much about the Chat other than it was a new state bird for me. Looking at the range map this morning I realized it seems to be somewhat rare for the state.
