I remember one spring back in the 1970's we had a long stretch of easterly winds in March and Bob Ridgley of Panama and neotropical birding fame had, if I remember right, 7, yes 7, Western Spindalis in the Lighthouse Point section north of Pompano Beach. Of course they might have arrived earlier but the number, no doubt an all time USA high count, and weather seemed like a perfect match. Don't think he ever published that record.
