Thanks, David. Of the 12 banded Piping Plovers reported this season, 10 of them are frequently seen. The "regulars" are from the Great Lakes (4), South Dakota (2), Nebraska (1), North Dakota (2) and Ontario (1). Thanks to Rangel Diaz's efforts, the birds find refuge in the cordoned area on weekends when the beach is crowded.

The Cackling Goose in Crandon Gardens is one of the few remaining birds in the original waterfowl collection that was puchased in the mid-90's. It was banded by the aviculturist.
