Although the Cinnamon Teal has not been relocated at this large lake/wetland it was TEEMING with more than 2000 birds, probably more. Gadwall, Northern Shovelor, Green-winged Teal (300 plus) American Wigeon, Blue-winged Teal and Mottled Ducks. American Avocet (40 plus). At sunset-American White Pelican (50 plus), Sandhill Cranes (100 plus), Greater Yellowlegs (who knows-hundreds), Rosette Spoonbills-20, Wood Storks(50 plus),all assorted wading birds, Glossy Ibises. It reminded me of Duda Farms on a good day, but in one large lake. The directions say 5 miles west of SR 29 on CR858, but it was maybe a half mile more. There is a lake with a Cypress Dome, nice but keep going west.
In a small lake at the first light still going west were Ring-necked Ducks. Since this is a pretty new area, I don't if this is a regular showing or if with the recent rains the water level is just right. But it was an amazing spectacle.
