The point is that that the grebe is not in south Florida. It s out-of-area here. Statewide listserves are a different matter, and it is perfectly in order there. There are plenty of other matters that are off-topic here as there are in the list serves. Such posts get summarily deleted (with a delay for the some of the more humorous efforts). I bothered to post some explanation rather than pulling the whole thread immediately because it s near the borderline of what is ok.

We have provided buttons at the top of the BirdBoard to make it easy for those wishing to check the statewide RBA or other Florida lists. Those posts don t need to be repeated here.

It is a different matter if there is a south Florida connection, or the bird is really outstanding (e.g., Townsend s Solitaire, or maybe a Red-necked Grebe).

Now if two enterprising local birders such as A&M had made a trip up to Brevard, and were reporting what they had seen, that would be fine. Having seen it themselves, they would be entitled to shout about it.

PS. As for your reading comprehension issue (magic book). I have nothing more to say.
