Hi Jeanette, I had a hawk visit my yard today as well. I don't know what kind it was. The blue jays went crazy and I noticed a large bird on a tall pine that I have. I've had hawks visit before, but don't know what kind (not good at bird identifications yet). I took a picture once, but its head was behind a branch so I only got the underside. I saw a cardinal once and was so excited, but it never returned, to my knowledge. I'm still hoping for a regular visitor. Backyard bird watching is extremely cool. I can't believe I only discovered it this year. :)
