If I hadn't seen the bird in the field, I may have the same come to the same conclusion as you. But your comment about the size I don't believe is correct. In the field, the bird definately meets the size requirements. We have spent much time weighing that fairly easy issue in the field.

If you are able to draw the same conclusion in the field about the size, I would be quite happy to accept your current conclusion.

I very much respect your experience and ablility to ID birds. I really hope you are able to see the bird in the next week or so and then draw a conclusion.

I will have to look at the light colored tail that you mention and see how that applies.
