Hi Bill,
Thank you for the clarification. I did some research and have seen hundreds of shots on Seaside Sparrows and have not seen one that has darker upper parts and juvenile looking like mine.
The subspecies will remain a mystery for the time being. If you don't know what subspecies I can only imagine that there aren't that many people who know that either.
