Boy, did they leave. Matheson was quiet on both sides of Cutler this afternoon, and so was Barnes. I had hoped that the continued rain and southerly wind would bring another wave down, but no.

Has anyone locally looked at records of good birding days and tried to correlate it with the weather? A lot of people predict fallouts and fronts elsewhere in the country, but it is so different here. It can be storming in the Gables and be a beach day 5 miles away. The usual predictions don't really work. Because I generally end up birding on "day two" after a good report, and usually find meager pickings, I get the feeling that the birds come down mostly at the beginning of weather, and once a pattern has set in (like today's cloudy drizzle), they have already gone. Do others find this to be true?
