Hmmm... Strong winds last year and a bumper crop of fruiting native trees and a bumper crop of (some) species of birds.
I don't have a Ph.D. in ecosystem management, but I wonder if the two might be related? Has this pattern happened after earlier hurricane years?

: Picking up on Felipe's mention on mockingbirds, here at the north end of Broward we've had a bumper crop of mockingbirds. It was an exceptionally good nesting year. In some cases I counted nests within 75 to 100 feet of one another which I find an unusually tolerant spacing. Perhaps related is the equally unusually heavy fruiting on Dahoon holly, and all species of stoppers, as well as cocoplum.
