Today, several birders assembled at 7:30 at the Miami Seaquariam Parkinglot. This TAS walk was going to be held at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne. A little after 8:00, we were in the park and ready for a morning of migrating passerines. We parked at No Name Harbor, and walked a circle around the Pond Trail then down to the Bike Bath. Our group somehow splintered into two smaller groups. Here are some of the more notable birds and migrants:
Reddish Egret
Cooper's Hawk
Osprey- at least ten (one group consisted of eight)
Spotted Sandpiper

Ruddy Turnstone
Common Ground-dove
Yellow-billed Cuckoo

After everyone headed off home and to Barnes, Paul Bithorn, Bruce Purdy, and I wandered around Virginia Key.
On Virgina Key Beach Road, we found some rock pits full of shorebirds:
Black-bellied Plover
Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Lesser Yellowlegs- three
Willet
Spotted Sandpiper
Ruddy Turnstone
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Short-billed Dowitcher

Then it was off to A.D. Barnes. The north part of the park was hopping even at mid day...
