Maksutov scopes?

Has anyone ever used a Maksutov mirror scope, such as the Celestron C90, in the field? How about the Tele-Vue 78? I am torn about buying a scope specifically for sea-watching, and resolution and feild of view, as well as a bright image, are really important. Anyone??
