I just got back from my annual Carolina warbler video trip, where, at this time of year, all the "good" eastern warblers are
expected in the mountains. Large areas of beautiful woods, where warblers, tanagers, grosbeaks, etc. usually sing all day long were totally silent. It was eerie. Like Rachel Carson come true. It's not just here where the birds aren't showing up.
Maybe I was a little early this year. I hope so. This was scary.
