At this time it is probably a bit late but if this is for the sake of the data, here are the facts of the male Western Spindalis (WESP) sighting. Nancy Price and I saw and reported the bird on the 16th. I called Angel and Mariel and posted it to Birding Florida. We had been at the site of the Thick-billed Vireo (TBVI) and a woman from out of state said she saw the WESP across the road from and closer to the parking lot from the TBVI site. When Nancy and I went to the restrooms, it was in a palm near the Boater's Grill. It flew off (into the hammock toward the nature trail areas) fairly quickly. It was singing for a while before we saw it.
