Some things I have noticed this summer:

1. Incredible numbers of successful mockingbird nests and several for two times.
2. Slow or no bloom on royal poincianna
3. All stoppers have had a bumper crop of berries
4. more red-winged blackbirds than before have hung around the feeders
5. many many ibis (white) are now habituated and walk right past me in the manner of pigeons
6. brown thrashers are sighted in larger numbers
7. white winged dove are down in count
8. mourning dove are normal in count as are blue-jays
9. the first blue-grey gnatcatchers are appearing and most are silent making few if any calls (This event is generally by August 15th - August 30 in my area)
10. Numbers of black & turkey vultures drifting south are increasing
11. Nighthawk numbers are down significantly
12. No count on whip-poor-wills or chuck-wills-widow

Just some field data from Northwest Broward Hoechoka Hammock
