A flock of about 20 cave swallows was milling around this morning under the turnpike as it passes over sw 248 st, just east of the intersection of sw 248 st and sw 112 ave. This is on the way to the dump marsh. If they decide to nest here it will certainly be easier to see them than clambering around at the old 216th st site.
The red-shouldered hawks that were nesting at the dump site seem to have abandoned their nest after almost two months and apparently no young.
