My only saving grace is putting the feeder in my front yard garden which is well-hidden by trees. I suspect part of the problem is that they like trees and such to hide in and perhaps sip on the sap, and we are greatly lacking of trees here in the Falls area.
They may also be prolific breeders and the populations are very high.
