Of course, observers should make every effort to keep their distance from these birds, try not to have direct interaction, and not harass them. They seem unafraid of humans or human activity and are not afraid to walk in the direction of where there are humans, but they have not begged. Rather they've kept busy foraging and acting as if humans are not present. But they should have as little contact with humans as possible.
