Well, I did it! I finished my Bird-A-Day year with 366 different birds seen, each one on a different consecutive day! Woot! Woot! My last bird was a female Lesser Goldfinch, seen and photographed in Lyle, Klickitat Co., WA this morning! The B-A-D thing was a fun exercise and a great way to force oneself to go out birding every single day. There is a definite strategy involved, for sure. It was time consuming but fun. I encourage others to try it, even if you don't travel to another area or move to another state, etc. See how far you can get! Thanks to Trey for doing such a fine job running the B-A-D website! I'm now back in Sequim, WA in the Olympic Peninsula. Tomorrow, like every year for the last dozen or so, I'll be doing a Century Run i.e. trying to see >100 species of birds in one county in one day with my good friend, Bob Schmidt. This will be in Clallam Co., WA, where I live. Wish me luck! I won't be doing Bird-A-Day in 2013 I need to get a job! Lol. Happy New Year to all.
