Packing bags for a trip to see my in-laws has kept us from searching for all of the Razorbills that have been seen. I tried once for the bird that David Simpson found but failed to see it.
I had a small window of opportunity today and went with my son Philip to Government Cut to search. Of course right has we arrived it started to pour down rain. We decided to eat lunch and wait for the rain to stop. This worked out well, we walked to the cut from there and saw lots of TAS members, Robin, Bill, Carlos, David and Andy. I hope I did not leave anyone out! They had already seen a few Razobills, we tried but did not see any right away. While scanning far and wide I spotted one in the surf about a quarter mile to the north. We all had wonderful looks as it drifted south right up to the jetty!
Now we can go out of town and not hope that the birds are still there when we return!
