I birded the Lucky Hammock/Annex/C-111 area from 6:30 to 10:00 this morning. While at Lucky I met Matt and Ashley from Mass. and we birded together the rest of the morning. They picked up a few life birds. Here are the highlights:

Flycatchers:
Tropical Kingbird
Western Kingbird
Vermilion Flycatcher
Least Flycatcher (Annex)
Ash-throated Flycatcher (at Aerojet Rd and 9336)
Great Crested Flycatcher
Eastern Phoebe

Raptors:
Swainson's Hawk
Short-tailed Hawk, light and dark
Red-tailed Hawk
Red-shouldered Hawk
Kestrel
Northern Harrier
Barred Owl (heard)

Warblers:
Wilson's (Annex)
Magnolia (Annex)
Black-throated Green (Lucky Hammock)
Orange-crowned
Prairie
Black-and-white
Northern Waterthrush
Palm
Prairie
Common Yellowthroat
Yellow-rumped

Sparrows:
Lincoln's (2, Lucky)
Swamp
Grasshopper
Savannah

Wrens:
Sedge (Lucky)
Carolina (Annex, heard)
House

The male Vermilion may be changing its habits. At first it was not to be found at the pump station, then it showed up on the fence close to the main road for a moment, it flew up the the wire, and just as quickly disappeared. There was no sign of the female. A very fun morning, worthy of an Evil Twin/Stillwater/Stone The Perfect Crime Black Smoked Saison.
