Sorry, I mean Caspian tern (Sterna caspia). WP means winter plumage (UK terminology). A few along the shore that day, and on Nov 6th, there were 2 ad+1 juv, and shortly after additional 2 ad + 1 juv passing by heading SE. The juveniles still used their high-pitched call and the heron-like call of the adults were unmistakable. Royals were around at both places all the time.
Again I apologize for the name - greater crested is Thallaseus bergii, a far east cousin. It is hard to keep up with the English and latin (and Swedish) names, because of continuous splitting and lumping. Caspian tern was formerly known as" Hydroprogne chegrava". I am using Globaltwitcher.com. Have a look at it! Then your species (and races) will be updated at every time Clements changes are announced.
