A painted bunting appeared today with a silver band on the right leg. The seam of the tag is to the front so the print on it is not legible. The body and tail block the view when the bird is facing away. Are the bands colored coded by the researchers?
The bunting is an adult male. It is the first banded bird to appear at the blind/feeder.
