Response below from researchers in Mexico about this bird and also some follow up info from the Flamingo that was seen in Snake Bight in 2002.
How exciting to get this information from you, the images are great! This individual was banded September 4th, 2010 at the Ria Lagartos Biosphere Reserve in Yucatan Mexico and observed several times as a fledgling with the creche. It had not been observed since then.
The previous report of a Yucatan banded flamingo was sent by Roy Wood, former Park Ranger at Everglades National Park in 2002. That flamingo returned to the Yucatan, since its band was read several times in 2003.
