You may be surprised by the Pacific Northwest. We were there about 2 weeks ago and it was hotter than Miami. But the coastline is spectacular for birds, especially if you go south into Oregon for the Brandt's Cormorants, Pigeon Guillemots ( which seem to grow on rocks) and the Glaucous-winged Gulls.
If you love coffee and/or beer, the Pacific northwest is especially fun!
