Friday Aireo and I went to the greenway park at the Ft Lauderdale airport for the anis. We found the Groove-billed and both Smooth-billed Anis inside the park near the end of the path, perched in a tree in the middle of a bunch of palms. We watched them until they flew across the road and into the neighborhood.

Saturday, after the TAS trip to Corkscrew and Marco Island, we stayed at Greenway and Fritchey roads to look for the Great Horned Owls. We found them on Fritchey road, both fledgings perched on a bare tree, one parent on a nearbly cypress and the other across the street in a pine. Thus making it a 3-owl day... quite exciting for us, topped only by our 4-owl day last winter at Killdeer Plains in Ohio.
