: As Mr. Pranty notes, the bird is undoubtedly a pileated woodpecker. Here is a picture of one in residence at Loxahatchee. They are also present in Parkland area in Northwestern Broward County.

The giant woodpecker that I have seen is not the same. it has no white belly or white on it`s head and is much bigger... I wish I new how to post a pic on this board you would be amaze at this woodpecker
