Thank you - that'll be good reading. I'm one of the lowly and unliked 'photographers' who has become a birder over the past 6 years after becoming fairly addicted to photographing birds. I started learning the names of the birds as I photographed them, and started keeping lists of birds seen and wanted. I've gotten pretty good with Florida birds, and even migrational birds, for the ones that are more unique, but I'm still slowly learning to differentiate some of the birds which I can quickly guess their family but not their specific type - sandpipers and warblers are challenging with so many looking so close to eachother with small variations.
I'm getting better - but still need a little more reading and occasional confirmation!
