Let me press you on this question. How does one tell that OWP or any bird for that matter hasn't "arrived" in the sense that strictly speaking all birds have arrived in Florida since it rose from the sea 10,000 past. The vermillion flycatcher of recent experience has returned some three-four years now. Soon it may just stay, and nest, and breed. Does it become indigenous after many years or always remain an outsider or exotic?

This is probably a B.S. in ornithology but I just wonder about these things.

I first experienced the house sparrow which was called English sparrow in 1947 when I was at St. Anthony school in Ft. Lauderdale. They are now present for 60+ years. Are they exotic or indigenous?
