Have you considered House Wren? It's common in winter in south Florida.

: How unlikely would a Winter Wren sighting be in Pinecrest this morning? I observed a very small wren like bird this a.m. in my yard. The bird remained very close or on the ground had the wren like tail short tilted up and had a yellowish chest. I was unable to get my field glasses and get back to the bird so thats all I have. I have observed the Carolina Wren in the past and this bird did seem smaller and the yellow was definitely on the chest.
