On our portion of the Kendall CBC last Sunday Tamiami Airport/Indian Hammocks/Thompson Park), we seemed to have a "normal" number (7) but it will be interesting to see overall numbers (Kendall CBC had 60 in 2003). My yard jays (Falls area) seem to be holding their own....

Also, Blue Jays as a species DO migrate, as is clear to anyone who has done fall hawk watches in the Northeast (such as my fave, Hook Mountain overlooking the Hudson River in Nyack, NY). At times there are small flocks of jays moving south. Florida, though, may have a less migratory subspecies/race/form.
