During the Kendall CBC, Bryant Roberts and I observed a COMMON LOON in the lake at the park, within 20 feet of the shore, along with 5 Ring-necked Ducks, 1 Ruddy Duck, and the usual Coots and Pied-billed Grebes. 3 Lark Sparrows were also found huddled together in a tree near the playground by eagle-eyed Bryant.

Other birds of interest on our route were 1 each Painted and Indigo Buntings plus 2 Am Goldfinches near Tamiami Airport, and a Chuck-will's-Widow and BT Blue Warbler at Indian Hammocks Park. More than 100 Am Robins were seen flying around during the day.

A flock of 86 Monk Parakeets feeding on the ground near the entrance to a fenced area on SW 137th Ave. was impressive.
