I was hoping to get help identifying a bird. As I was a driving through a friend's neighborhood last week, I saw a bird standing on a driveway. It was about the size of a cardinal. It had iridescent feathers of blue and purple and I believe yellow. There might have even been some red in there. It was about noon time so the sun was shining pretty brightly. It was one of the most beautiful birds I have ever seen. But what was striking is that it had a white v-shaped necklace (similar in shape to the blue jay's black necklace). I've looked through guide books and have been unable to find this bird. It is too large to be a painted bunting, plus buntings don't have the necklace. Any help would be appreciated.
