Many years ago, there were true fallouts at Ft. De Soto, with birds as thick as described in the Tropical Birding article. I can recall tanagers, grosbeaks, buntings, and other colorful birds feeding on the ground along the sides of the roads appearing like beautiful wildflowers. We haven't seen such a fallout there in many years.
