Great Horned Owl at COB

A Great Horned Owl was seen at Camp Owaissa Bauer at 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 28, 2004. It was perched on top of a dead pine snag in the pine rockland parcel southwest of Timms Hammock (west of the north-south firebreak). It was making a single loud call, unlike any Great Horned Owl that I've ever heard (not the typical series of loud hoots). The park is located at 17001 SW 264 Street but is closed after dark and when groups have reserved the park.
