Bulbuls have been most frequently seen this winter in the Kendallwood development, which is about a half-mile north of Baptist Hospital. The entrance is at the intersection of SW 87 Avenue (Galloway Road) and SW 82 Street. Drive up and down the streets in this un-gated development until you hear bulbuls calling (their call is a clear whistle). Spot-breasted Orioles are also here, but are much harder to find. The neighborhood just north of Kendall Drive and across from Baptist Hospital, the traditional spot for bulbuls in recent years, is still worth a check, as are the neighborhoods east of Galloway Road, especially around Kenwood Elementary on SW 79 Avenue.
