Prairie Warbler numbers have increased dramtically since this morning! Along with the shift in wind and incoming cloud cover, warbler numbers have jumped. Just did a loop of the Mangrove Nature Trail which starts just north of the No Name Harbor parking lot. Many flocks of Prarie Warblers were observed on this trail, mostly bright males and account for 85% of the total Prairie Warblers seen today. One such flock consisted of over 35 Prairie Warblers in one fruiting fig! Palm Warbler numbers have also increased over the span of the day. Raptors have started to pop up after the shift in wind. Several Coops, Merlin, Osprey, Harrier and Short-tailed Hawks have been soaring overhead. Birds are coming; look busy :)
