Although the description really doesn't bode well for this species, the name does sound sort of like Pomarine Jaeger a fall migrant pelagic seabird that overwinters off the coast of South Florida. Seabirds are often accidentally hooked by sportfisherman trolling baits from boats or fishing off of piers.The hook, if ingested, will require specialized treatment by a veterinarian in order to rehabilitate the bird. Call Tropical Audubon for the nearest rehabilitation center for injured birds.
