I have always seen the name as redheaded agama, or agama agama.
They are wide spread thoughout the area of Redland from Redland elementary to Krome avenue and even as far north as 232 and Krome.
I was told by a Fish and Wildlife officer that worked and lives in the area that there used to be an infamous reptile dealer that lived nearby and was in the habit of releasing animals that weren't currently in demand thinking that he could always catch them if he needed them. Apparently he even released "hot" snakes from time to time.
The dealer is long gone but his agamas remain!
