The Asa Wright Nature Center in Trinidad, world famous for its biological diversity and outstanding birding is under severe attack. The reserve is under attack due to massive quarrying that is spreading into its pristine valley destroying the mountainside and habitat. It has brought public, global outcry.
Please read the following articles and then email Minister Ramnarine of the Ministry of Energy. He is the man who can stop the "Calder Hart quarry" from destroying Asa Wright. He is the ultimate boss of National Quarries which has contracted Malaysian owned Sunway-yes the Calder Hart company- to mine the quarry threatening Asa Wright.

Yes, unfortunately I can confirm the sad state of affairs in Trinidad's Northern Range, especially in the area near Asa Wright. This is due to unregulated quarrying. I've attached a video and column to keep you up to date on what's going on.
