Good to hear that it is not going to be euthanized! My experience has been that there is a lot of variation in juvenile BW hawks and I would have needed to see the tail to be 100% certain on an ID. Most juvenile dark morph short tails that I've seen have been in flight not posed " in fright" like this one - glad someone else had more experience....
