Today in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP, I counted 153 Northern Parulas in the central and southern part of the park. Most were males, with about 15% having female-type plumage. The timing for this wave of parulas is normal -- a substantial push usually comes into Cape Florida about 2 weeks after the first small wave. Later, I noted parulas in the trees along Crandon Blvd. and in the shopping centers.
At 10:05 AM the La Sagra's Flycatcher was ~100 yards south of the white gate and ~150 yards east of the dirt Nature Trail. It seems to vocalize less than before. The Great Cormorant was on its rock at the lighthouse jetty.
