I found a Diamond Dove at the Old Cutler Canoe launch this afternoon when I stopped to search for some ducks I saw early in the morning. The sun was glaring behind the ducks and I couldn't discern what kind. Likely Bufflehead.
Anyway, I saw a dove feeding in the parking lot. I had never seen one like it. I did not have my camera but I did have a small video camera with me.
Toe and Larry thought it may be a Diamond Dove prior to seeing the bird or the video. Larry confirmed the ID when he showed up and found the bird feeding.
Diamond Dove, Cool Bird of the day!
