With sustained 26-kt winds all morning, I did my version of Charlie Ewell's "pelandgic" birding from the balcony (balandgic?). The parade of Northern Gannets is neverending and 95% of the ones I see are adults. A large shearwater-type bird was pretty far out and due to color, I suspect Cory's. The frigatebirds that are out and about are young birds. Two groups of Pomarine Jaegers came very close to shore between 12:20 and 1 PM. They were robust, strong flyers and were in fairly cohesive flocks so I discarded Parasitic as the ID. The first group of 7 seemed to be mostly light adults but the second group of 6 was a mixed bag -- from 2 all-dark birds to a very light bird with conspicuous barring. No sea ducks, but several small flocks of Red-breasted Mergansers flew by.
