Visited Matheson Hammocks this morning tide was somewhat low. In the wading beach area I saw a flock of what im assuming to be ruddy turnstones but not too sure. I am horrible at shorebirds. Are the ruddy turnstones usual in Matheson?.
Also saw a lone willet at the shoreline by the mangroves near the road leading to the wading beach, semipalmated plovers, killdeers, laughing gulls, brown pelican, royal terns and I think I saw 2 least sandpipers mixed with the flock of semipalmated plovers. There were also some palm & black-n-white warblers around with some blue-gray gnatcatchers.
